Fundraising Tips

10 Fundraising ideas… with lots of emphasis on Fun!

  1. Christmas or New Year party. The festive season is upon us! Why not host a party for your friends, work colleagues or neighbours to celebrate and ask them to make a donation at the door.
  2. Host a dinner party. Invite your friends round and ask them to donate what they’d usually pay for a casual dinner out!
  3. Sports competition. Host a football, hockey or touchrugby tournament and get the teams to pay an entrance fee.
  4. Quiz night. Host a quiz night in your local pub… you could make it a regular event.
  5. Movie night. Get in touch with your local cinema and arrange discounted tickets if you fill one cinema – sell the tickets to your friends and family for a profit!
  6. Casual day. Convince your child’s school or your employer to have a casual day – £2 per person adds up quickly!
  7. Televised Sporting Events. Book out your local pub with a large screen for the next big football or rugby game and charge a fee at the door.
  8. Car boot sale. You know they say.. “one mans junk is another man’s treasure”.
  9. Sponsored crazyness! Organise a sponsored crazyness campaign where your friends shave their heads, colour their hair purple, or go for a backwax! …what we’ll do in the name of charity!
  10. Enter a race. Enter a race or sporting event and canvas for sponsorship per mile.

You can raise extra funds at your event through raffles, auctions, fines boxes, guessing competitions (the old coins in a jar trick!) or selling snacks.

We’d love to hear all about your fundraising efforts, please contact us and send the news and pictures of your fundraisers and so we can share them on the site!

Set up your own Fundraising page to collect sponsorship online!

It’s really easy for you to raise money for Amasango by creating an online fundraising page on JustGiving. It takes just a few minutes and you can collect donations for any sponsored event or appeal. Press this button to start:

Donation Online button

Just personalise your page with a photo and message and email the web address to all your contacts. Then your friends, family, colleagues and anyone else can make a donation through your page from anywhere in the world. Fundraising pages are just like paper sponsorship forms, except they’re online, so you don’t have to spend time collecting cash and cheques.

You can create a fundraising page for absolutely anything. You could get sponsored to run, swim, cycle, get fit, grow a moustache or have your head shaved. You can even create a page in memory of someone or instead of birthday or wedding gifts. The only limit is your imagination.

If you have any questions, or need any help, you can contact the Justgiving helpdesk on 0845 021 2110 or help@justgiving.com from Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm.
